Apple Laptop History

Apple Inc is a company from the United States of America which was formed in 1977. It has it’s headquarter in Cupertino, California, being a multinational company that deals with producing consumer electronics, computer software, and as well, commercial severs. Its originally creators were Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

Ever since the year 1977 they started creating computer machines, but the Apple laptop history does not begin from then on. The first Apple laptop ever was released in August 1992. It was named PowerBook 100 and it was well received in spite of its slow processor, passive matrix screen and the lack on f internal floppy drive. Its price was of $2500. Three different models were created to add a plus to anyone, who wanted to have something to choose from, the PowerBook 140 and the PowerBook 170. The second was sold for $2000 and the third for $4600. In the year 1993 they continued with the PowerBook 200 series.

Therefore, they created the PowerBook 210, 230 and 270. The difference between the 100s and the 200s was that the 200s contained a bigger memory, an internal hard drive, came with a docking station which allowed it to contain more RAM. The PowerBook 210 was priced at $2250, the 230 at $2610 and the third at $3100.

In 1994 the 500 series came out on eth market. What did they bring as a novelty? They were sleeker, faster, had a built in microphone, and a stereo speaker. They created the PowerBook 520, 540, 550, being priced at most of $5000, very much for that period. In 1995, the PowerBook 5300 series began to come out on the market. It was afterwards considered the worst computer Apple has ever had. It was nevertheless the first to feature the Power PC processor. Anyhow, its price arrived up to $6800. The PowerBook G3 introduced in 1997, represented the fastest notebook in the world at that time and it was continued in 1998 with the PowerBook G3 Series. The MacBook replaced the iBook and the MacBook Pro replaced the PowerBook. The MacBook family had a totally different design with a glossy screen display, a light weight, a dual Core Intel Duo processor, a fast working time, a lot of capabilities and features that the other had not so far. They came at a price between $1000 and $2500. Until today, we can see the MacBook in continuous changing, and nowadays we can choose out from three MacBooks, in accordance to our needs. There is the MacBook, the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air.

Ipad Competitor

The iPad has been announced long before it was actually released. Since February they have been stirring on and on about it and they have been going forth with the announcement until it was actually released in April 10th 2010 in the United States.

Rather than being the only tablet computer existent on the market, there are some iPad competitors that want to get at the same results and quality as the Apple iPad is.
