With the releasing of the Apple iPad tablet, that offered us from affordable prices like $499, to less affordable ones, $829, HP tried to come with some gadget to compete with that from those from Apple.
The HP iPad is known under the name of HP Slate and it comes at affordable prices. The pricing strat though may be $549 for a memory of 32 GB; it arrives up to $599 for the 64 GB version. It looks as though seemingly more like a business platform, that uses the Windows 7 operating system and that is believed to be similar more to the iPod touch. Though they did not release it on the market yet, the HP iPad was intended to let Apple know that it has a fierce competitor. Their motto is “A lot of technology in a little space”.
The resolution screen will somehow be smaller, as it will be of 8.9 inch and have a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels. It will have a SD card reader and a USB 2.0 port, with a SIM card and tray. Due to its size, it will be much lighter than the actual Apple iPad and as well shorter and narrower. It will use the HP touch optimized UI, with the Windows 7 Home Premium. If the Apple iPad does not feature any camera at all, but you have to buy and connect the camera Kit in order to have access at photos or videos, the HP Slate has actually two cameras, a VGA front camera for video and a 3MP camera on the back.
As it has rather many features the battery life will not last for as long as the one from the actual Apple iPad. Therefore its long life capacity will be reduced to half, which is to say, to just five hours of battery capacity, on fully charged. Anyhow, the battery is as well non-user replaceable, just in the case of the iPad. Though not yet released, the HP Slate is expected to come out in the June or all the way back to September.
Even though the iPAd has sold so many gadgets in its first releasing dates, HP does not get scared and trusts that it can if not beat, at least get to the same amount if sold just as the Apple iPad. It has all the necessary qualities and more. For those who have trouble deciding between these two, should think that both companies have a big background in making these kinds of machines, they both are very well regarded but the thing that differentiates them the most is the software used. And, let’s not forget as they are two different companies, they tend to put emphasis on other things, when creating such a gadget.
